world writeable on pseudo terminal
« on: October 02, 2009, 10:37:18 am »
Hello world  :)

Just a little question.

I install new AIX from DVD AIX 5300-09-01 , when a user is connected his  pts doesn't have a tty writeable.

# who -T
user1     - pts/0       Oct  2 05:25

# ls -l /dev/pts/0
crw-------    1 user1    staff        22,  0 Oct  2 06:12 /dev/pts/0

the bos.aixpert.cmds fileset is installed , it can be the cause of problem?

Best regards.

This is actually meant to be standard behavior in UNIX these days.

try the command:

mesg y

to set at tty to world writeable.
