Hmm. XLC-v16!? Need to see if there is a "try and buy version."
FYI. I packaged bash-5.0 yesterday. See http://www.aixtools.net/index.php/bash
As I see you use bash - I would really appreciate a test drive. (FYI: it should install side-by-side with what you have - assuming you are not installing into /opt/bin).
