MPIO support on ISCSI from IBM?
« on: June 16, 2014, 12:55:42 PM »
Hi all,

I am not sure if I post this in the right forum, hopefully somebody knows the answer.

One of our customers has an AIX server with AIX 6.1 TL7. This server is via FC connected with a HP EVA.
Customer recently bought a HP StoreVirtual (Lefthand) and wants to replace the HP EVA with this HP StoreVirtual.

My colleague connected the AIX server via iSCSI to this StoreVirtual and I migrated the data, but the performance is not as expected (slower than when the data was still on the HP Eva).

I think the problem might be that we use the default MPIO drivers on AIX and that these drivers don't support iSCSI (at least, that is what I find on the internet in several posts dating back to 2010).

My question is: Is there still no MPIO support from IBM on iSCSI?

Thanks in advance.

Personally, I don't know. in this case I would open a PMR and ask support. maybe in a later TL.
