Hi Friends,

Background of the problem : I am from Linux background with some knoweldge on shell scripting , I have been asked to modify a script that is currently being used to install patches and upgrades. I am unable to get the info on the most recent patch level/Technology level , due to little support .

I tried goggling, but find only the below information .

Starting OS-Level   Desired OS-Level
6100-02-06-0943      6100-06-01-1043
6100-03-05-1015      6100-03-07-1036
6100-06-01-1043      7100-00-01-1037
7100-00-00-0000      7100-00-01-1037

I am looking forward for the information further to 7100-00-01-1037 .

Please help me .

Regards,
Sundeep Kumar

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy.

I have a couple of articles that outline the latest oslevels.

For AIX 6.1: http://www.rootvg.net/content/view/589/1/ (Needs updating)

I need to update this to the real latest which is AIX 6.1 TL9 SP3 : http://www.rootvg.net/content/view/613/326/)

For AIX 7.1: http://www.rootvg.net/content/view/590/1/ (Needs updating)

The latest info on the last SP which is AIX 7.1 TL3 SP3 : http://www.rootvg.net/content/view/614/327/

 ps. 7100-00-01-1037 is ancient. (TL00 SP1)

You want something that is 7100-02-SP-YYWW at least, with 7100-03-SP-YYWW the most up to date versions.

The oslevel strings are: AIX_Version-TL-SP-YYWW where TL is the TL number, SP service pack, YY is year of release (e.g. 10=2010) and WW is week # (01 is first week of year, 37 is 37th week of year, etc.)

Further, can I recommend a "hints" article on using oslevel -> http://www.rootvg.net/content/view/506/114/

And the articles on oslevels for AIX 6.1 and AIX 7.1 have been updated!

And, finally - how about using SUMA to update your software? And yes, you can also script SUMA actions - but that is not what I cover here: http://www.rootvg.net/content/view/209/88/
