Nmon have problem
« on: August 20, 2015, 01:55:57 AM »
Hi everyone,
I run a command to export nmon file on aix 7.1 (# nmon –f –t –s 5 –c 36). It creates a nmon file with size ~40Kb. I changed parameters in this command, but file nmon still have size ~40Kb.
Why do create only nmon file ~40Kb ? Please help me to fix this issues.
Have any issues relative to OS or nmon software ?
Thanks,

Hi everyone,
I have got the standard nmon file (the nmon file size changed when I changed the time get report). But I wait a long time (~ 10 hours) for this nmon file. Why take a long time for the command "# nmon –f –t –s 5 –c 36" ?
Thanks,

Michael

hi. I am on vacation, so no documentation at hand.

Try watching this Virtual AIX Users Group presentation, by Nigel, on getting started with nmon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx2W6kEVZZQ&feature=youtu.be

If you are looking for an example, i.e., a basic setup to collect baseline statistics you could also try reading - http://www.rootvg.net/content/view/588/88/
